This 2011 Rural Summit besides focussing on our issues as leaders of rural schools sometimes very alone and distant from support, shows us that there are significant “others” out there trying to convince decision makers and resources that there are better ways to deliver quality education in the bush!!!
Working as a District High School leader you sometimes feel a bit alone and welcome the interest and support of others.
This report with recommendations is really a summative advocacy for us in roles. While not all will apply to you, we suggest much of it will. Please engage and have a read and start an online conversation on our website or beyond. We commend the Summit outcomes to you and as a participant we feel obliged to share and to act to advance particular recommendations within both our system AND to the government.
We invite you to explore the following link to the professional inputs at the summit. All the papers are presented by academics and have a strong research base.
